Once live (after 1600 on the day), you’ll be able to view the one shot HERE
Between April 24th and now, I’ve been working on a one shot comic series titled Pulsebound. Taking the challenge’s theme of first love, it is both a story with this in mind, and a metatextual love for handheld gaming in the 90’s, most specifically the pokemon craze that was both generation 1 and 2 (it’s no coincidence that the first panel is a top down in that style).
It also has DNA from all of my inspirations of the era, and if I ever carried the series forward, it would begin to grow and evolve in ways that would better reflect just how much of an amalgamation of concepts it is. For now, it’s a project that I spent part of the process wondering if I’d ever make in time for the deadline, and once I'd gotten to the action I'd committed to finishing it no matter what.
I’m not saying I wouldn’t jump for joy at winning or even being honourably mentioned, but I am saying that simply getting to this stage felt groundbreaking for me. Any and all feedback is welcome too. The website allows you to create an account in order to vote and comment, and I would genuinely love to know what you all think. Everything I learn from this point on, is going to influence future projects. Projects that I hope to one day put into a form of physical media you can hold in your hands.
Thank you for any and all support and feedback (positive or negative) and here’s to the first of many steps in the right direction.
